The Vidhan Sabha  is an important part of the democratic government of India. The students of grade 7 visited the Vidhan Sabha . As a pre - work for the visit, the students had prepared a few questions to ask an MLA and had read about the history of Vidhan Sabha through a reading created in the branch for the
purpose.

We were taken in and around the building by Mr. Baldev Bedi. He shared  the history of Vidhan Sabha. He showed us the inside of the meeting hall and explained the seating arrangements. The students were
mesmerized to see the hall. Though we were not able to meet any MLA yet  Mr. Baldevji clarified a lot of questions which the students had prepared. He, along with a few more people in the office shared a lot of information on how bills are passed, how a bill becomes a law, etc. They also gave us a few documents related to Vidhan Sabha and the MLAs and with the purpose of sharing it with the students. We had snacks with them in the Vidhan Sabha canteen. Mr. Baldevji appreciated our school for taking this initiative and making learning experiential.

DEMOCRACY AT WORK- A MEETING WITH THE VILLAGE SARPANCH

The students of grade 6 met “Sarpanch Shochandji” of “Sikopur village” as part of their PBL “Village”. The students had prepared a list of questions but as the  interaction proceeded, the number of questions too increased. The students  asked questions such as:
•        From where does the Panchayat get its funds?
•        What changed has the Sarpanch brought in his village?
•        What were the problems that the village and the Sarpanch faced?
•        What are the criteria to become a Sarpanch?
•        What happens if a Sarpanch is found guilty for some crime?
•        Who keeps a check whether the funds given by the BDO is utilized  efficiently?
This interaction not only provided an opportunity for the students to  interact with a Sarpanch but it also gave them an opportunity to see and understand how democracy functions at the grass root level. Interaction
with the community and engaging in real life experiences is an important  aspect of PBL. This aspect has wonderfully come out through this village visit.

Presidium Got Talent

Gandhiji had once quoted" The true essence of education lies in
bringing out the hidden potential of man". We at presidium provide the
perfect platform to explore the hidden talents of young stars.

Keeping this objective in mind, teachers of grade1 had organized
“PRESIDIUM GOT TALENT" activity to provide an opportunity to young stars to
boost their confidence and realize their potential.

Talent Hunt serves as a wonderful platform to encourage the students to explore and
express their talent. To showcase their talent, it was held on 12th - 18th of February 2013
for the first time. The young talent with their creative minds and innate calibre were at
their best. They put up a scintillating display of their talent. All the events kept the audience
spellbound and entertained throughout. The audience applauded their effort which was
indeed commendable.

The activity was conducted for all the eleven sections of grade1. It included the following
events.
Singing
Dancing
Instrumental Music
Poem Recitation
Acting and Enacting
Street Play
Drawing

The event was a grand success as all the children came out with their
amazing talents which not only groomed their personalities but also
enabled them to appreciate others abilities.

And it’s just not enough; teachers presented their symbol of love to the students by
presenting them with an appreciation card.

A fun filled visit was organized by school for Nursery and Prep students.
Our little ones were really excited and kept asking “when will we reach”?
while we were crossing the airport road children waived at the different
airlines aircraft and shouted in happiness " Dekho airoplane aa gaya",
they expressed their eagerness to reach to the venue.
Children explored the different parts of the AirBus 300 such as Cockpit,
Cargo area and also enjoyed takeoff and landing movements in the aircraft.
They were made aware about emergency landing and they slided from the
aircraft to the ground. The crew member explained how to use life saving
jacket and oxygen mask. In the end, fire drill was conducted in which they
were told what measures could be taken in case of fire.
